Metro Medellín expands its digital screens network with DENEVA

ICON Multimedia has now enabled twenty-four digital information screens that runs with DENEVA Passenger Information System. Those are located in seven stations of the line B, which connects San Antonio with San Javier, in western Medellín, in addition to updating it platform already installed in the tram and cable network of Ayacucho.

Specifically, these are high-end industrial monitors in different sizes and located in strategic spaces with greater traffic, which show real-time information of the arrival time of the following trains to the station where find the traveler; information about the Culture Metro and the city’s agenda, among other, to improve the passenger experience.

The installation of these visual information systems is part of Metro Medellin project, called Citizen Information Center (CIC), which includes different channels to offer useful information to its travelers during all time. Currently, accounts on social networks, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram are already running, as well as the digital displays of the bus stations of the line 1 and tram stops of Ayacucho and the Metrocable Orienten – Villa Sierra (Line H), which are now added the internal screens of the line B.

Also, by the end of this year, external screens will be put into service at the stations of lines A and B. These screens will be located on the footbridges or pedestrian bridges of stations on line A, while on line B they will be close to the accesses. With them citizens will be informed themselves about the operation of the Metro system.

DENEVA has been designed as a scalable web management tool that adapts the real time information that the passenger needs, making easier the centralized management of all means of transport, with the possibility of incorporating a loudspeaker system module for notices, advertising and warning messages.

DENEVA webinar to enhance campus communication

DENEVA is hosting a webinar on Digital Signage deployment for enhancing Campus Communication. The webinar, set for 1 p.m., May, 24, will focus on the benefits of using Digital Signage for university students, faculties and visitors.

The speakers, who has a long experience on Digital Signage industry, will help attendees to generate more engagement with the education community, including:

  • Build directories and school wayfinding maps
  • Post automated event listing
  • Manage emergency messaging
  • Display infotainment: social media, quiz, weather channel…
  • How to use digital menu board to promote healthy menus.

Attendees will learn not only how to build a strategy for engaging students, faculties and staff at education campuses, but best to measure results to build a connected and safe community.

ICON Multimedia celebrates its 25th anniversary

On the occasion of the 25th Anniversary, ICON Multimedia offers to the city of Palencia, the exhibition “Once upon a time… Computer science: from abacus to smart city in vignettes and more”, a unique sample in Europe that presents, in a playful and educational way, the evolution of the computing that includes, furthermore, the las solutions in digital signage designed by ICON Multimedia.

Throughout its journey, the visitors will have the opportunity of knowing, chronologically, the relevant events and characters that changed the history of computing through explanatory panels that combine rigor with humor, thanks to the cartoons of the well-known artist Jorge Crespo Cano, corroborator of the magazine El Jueves.

The exhibition contains more than 200 valuable pieces, among them, the visitor will be able to discover the original book of the Mathematical Theory the Communication by Shannon & Weaver (1949) or discover the MADAS calculator (1913), a machine derived from the Colmar arithmometer of 1820, which allowed the realization, for the first time, of divisions automatically.

Likewise, the collection includes pioneering pieces in its field, as the first laptop (1981) with a weight of 12 kg, and the first microprocessor INTEL D4004 model (1971); the largest and smallest calculation rules in history; a comparison of hard drives of all sizes: a wide representation of the first video-consoles… and a long etcetera.

The exhibition will be opened to the public, for free, until the 15th of July and may be visited from Tuesday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

In addition, concerted visits will be developed, with prior reservation, for schoolchildren form de educational centers of the capital and the province, and playful workshops for the whole family.

ICON Multimedia becomes member of Railway Innovation Hub

ICON Multimedia participated last Thursday 26th of April in the first General Assembly of Railway Innovation Hub, which was hold in the Railway Technologies Center of Málaga. In this way, it joins this private initiative whose purpose is the creation of a railway innovation space with a private and self-sustainable management model.

The international experience of ICON Multimedia in the railway sector joins that of other companies such as Thales, Ferrovial or Deimos, among others, to promote technology through collaborative R & D projects, the promotion of entrepreneurship and the provision of specialized services.

The creation of this railway hub is framed as part of the innovation plan for transport and infrastructure of the Ministry of Development, which includes initiatives that contemplate a new innovation model.

 

DENEVA at Digital Signage Expo 2018

From March 27 to 30, in Las Vegas, Digital Signage Expo (DSE) will take place, the world’s largest trade exclusively dedicated to showcasing innovative digital signage solutions and interactive communication solutions.

On this occasion, DENEVA will introduce its integration under BrightSign (stand #1728). The Spanish software is now compatible with an unlimited number of players of its series 3, covering the range LS, HD, XT, XD and OPS.

ICON Multimedia celebrates the International Women’s Day

On 8th, March, due to the International Women’s Day, ICON Multimedia held a team building day in order to contribute that all the employees develop and strengthen attitudes, knowledge, values and practices that promote gender equality, with special emphasis on non-sexist communication.

This activity was held, through which the participants carried out the elaboration of creative “tapas”, which were later judged by an expert jury in cooking and gender equality.

The aim of this dynamic was to reinforce a new framework for action and management in which equality of opportunities between women and men is a key aspect of the company culture, while at the same time seeking to increase motivation towards the goal of “total equality” of all the members of the company, and the development of fluid, receptive and non-sexist communication.

Viola Roseby, new Business Development Manager for DENEVA

We are proud to announce the addition of Viola Roseby to our Sales and Marketing team. Ms. Roseby will serve as the Business Development Manager for DENEVA Digital Signage Solution to manage key markets in North and Latin America.

Ms. Roseby comes to her new role with over 20 years of experience in digital signage. Having served various sales roles supporting technology solutions partners throughout North and South America. Her past experience in developing strategic partnerships, expanding brand awareness and loyalty in new and underdevelopment markets through indirect channel partners will be an asset to DENEVA’s expansion into the Americas. She also held sales leadership positions at Scala, Inc., Sharp USA and Appspace, Inc.  Ms. Roseby also holds a B.S. from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA.

The Spanish Royal Family have accepted the Honor Committee Presidency of the 25th anniversary of ICON Multimedia, supporting our work and professional career. The Honor Committee includes other authorities from the region and the province, who have already expressed their willingness to be part of it.

ICON Multimedia is organizing some events and activities to commemorate his career and professional success during its 25 years of life. The company will celebrate it involving employees, as well as other professionals and the citizenship in general with the innovation as the main point of all events.

Deneva at ISE 2018, the world’s largest AV systems integration show

ICON Multimedia will be, one year more, at ISE 2018 (Integrated System Europe) releasing the integration of its solution Deneva with BrightSign media players. For the first time at an international trade fair in EMEA region, ICON Multimedia will be shown the multimedia content management of Deneva under BrightSign (hall 8 – stand G240). The solution is now compatible with an unlimited number of BrightSign’s Serie 3 players: LS HD XT, XD and OPS.

Furthermore, ICON Multimedia will strengthen the integration with Embedded Signage, using the Toshiba SoC. The solution, that allows to have a single hardware supplier, simplify the installation process and cost reduction, will be realised at ISE 2018 at Toshiba stand (hall3 – stand C120).

ICON Multimedia advances in Colombia with a new contract for Metro Medellín

ICON Multimedia will implement its Communication System, Deneva, in Medellín Metro, with the collaboration of the colombian company Grupo Union. The contract is part of the smart mobility projects of the city, to achieve technological transformation in the intermodal transport area.

The solution of ICON Multimedia covers the installation in all metro stations in Medellin and involves the updating of the same platform already installed in the tram and cable network of Ayacucho.

Deneva will be integrated as part of the Citizen Information Center (CIC). Through large format screens located in the main accesses, it will show real-time information to passengers about traffic and incidents in the metro, news, the weather forecast or social networks, as well as any other interesting communication.
